We’ve organized our Identity, used our truth for Advocacy, and practiced the discipline of the Wait. Now, we open the final folder: Legacy.
When I sit at my desk and look out the window—as you see in my photo—I’m not just looking at the view. I’m looking at a future that I once thought was impossible. There was a time when my “Legacy” felt like it was going to be a story of struggle and a battle with a bottle. But today, I am the one holding the pen.
What is a Legacy?
Legacy isn’t just what you leave behind when you’re gone; it’s the trail you leave while you’re walking. For me, legacy is showing my children that their mother didn’t just survive—she evolved. It’s showing every woman who visits Princesshayes.com that your past is a chapter, not the whole book.
Filling the Legacy Folder
In this folder, I keep the things that will outlast me:
• The “Letter to the World”: My message that honesty is the only way to heal.
• The Book Blueprint: The stories of how I found sanity without the substance, and how I found my voice after years of silence.
• The Unbroken Promise: A commitment to stay in the “Truth” folder, even when it’s uncomfortable.
The Oprah Letter: A Final Act of Faith
People ask me why I’m so focused on getting my message to Oprah. It’s because she represents the power of a story told well. By filing my intent to reach her, I’m not just chasing fame; I’m claiming a seat at the table where the most important conversations happen. I am preparing for the day when my “Wait Folder” is empty and my “Legacy Folder” is being read by the world.
“Your legacy is being written in the small, sober, honest moments of today. Make sure you’re the one holding the pen.”
